[AMRadio] Source Broadcast Xmtrs

The answer to that question is yes,and I do. if you look at the frequencies
in a male voice you will find that it jumps out to at least 7kc frequently.
Most notable c and s sounds do. I have no interest in communication
quality. in simply sounds terrible and if one thinks not look/ listen to an
AM broadcast signal on a wide receiver with good audio and then cut it to
2.1 KC and listen. If one is concerned with bandwidth and communication
quality why are you not running CW or PSK. regarding frequency response,
I have the original installation manual and proof of performance tests that
were run after installation for my Gates. It reads like the highest
performance audio amps from the 50s and 60s. response from 30 cycles to 15
KC and the range from 300 to 10KC is about +or_ 1 DB and less than 1 %
distortion. That quality is certainly one reason, if not the main reason,
for running AM and after being back on for several years now, I find that
using SSB is simply more and more unsatisfactory. My preamp is set to
start to roll off at 5 KC. I recall someone once said "how many times
do you use phonetics when speaking to someone face to face"? I usually
operate on the lower portion of 80 around 3.7 + or - 30 KC and if I can
find find a clear 10 KC I do not get on. Original Message -----
