The FCC standard for broadcast AM has been 7.5KC and I doubt any
commercial AM radios have ever gone beyond that. In recent decades the
radios have become more and more narrow as AM has become deprecated by
big business.. A few years ago Clear Channel ordered its AM stations to
cut off audio at 5KC in order to clear space for digital "HD Radio"
which has become a disaster itself, especially on AM. Suit and tie
ignorance all the way.
