Great idea, Bob! Leave it to me to overlook the obvious way to find out.
According to the manuals I have the Valiant and Ranger low voltage chokes
are identical. The modulation driver transformer, however, is different. Now
the search begins for the driver...

I'd suggest getting both manuals.  Then compare part #s.

That "should" get one a better idea.

The other idea would be to send a msg to Gary Harmon and ask him, as he 
rewinds transformers.
