Yeah you're right. I don't know why I said Collins other than the obvious
Continental / Collins connection running things together in my " heat oppressed
brain".
Boy those missionaries must have access to a real good power line. That thing
will make your electric supplier real happy. I'm not sure what frequency the
thing will end up on. If it stays in the normal AM b'cast band shouldn't be much
of a job, but if there's anyone who can make the thing work up in the short wave
band it's Jack with maybe a little help from your network design expertise.....
It also wouldn't surprise me if the drug lords don't have their own satellite
network with mobile uplinks so they can move around. A 317 in a trailer would be
kind of noticeable, not that it'd make much difference when they own the local
cops and politicians.

It's a Continental 317C and will go to Columbia.
I kidded him about that being a base station so
the drug runners could have good reliable base
station for communications but he said it was a
missionary thing :-)
