[AMRadio] HUGE Estate Auction

All removed the same day? From rural SD? If anyone on the list goes to this,
please share your experience. Important lesson here...all the stuff that W0ZUS
treasured has to be disposed of in a heartbeat in one of the worst seller's
markets anyone ever saw to settle the estate. What will it all bring? $15K?
$20K. Checkenfeed compared to the value of the property, I bet. The aggravation
to get rid of it for a value that wouldn't buy a used Hyundai is over the top. I
applaud the family for having the auction at all and not just renting a couple
dumpsters or calling the metal scrappers. Most families (and there will be many
like this over the next decade) will not go to the effort--and nobody can blame
them. As we admire our piles and pass our next birthdays, we might want to keep
that thought in mind.

Subject: [AMRadio] HUGE Estate Auction

As advertised on p. 51, July Electric Radio, WØZUS estate.

Saturday, 27 August  starting at 9:30 AM, Rural Edgemont, SD. All purchases
must be removed that day.

Several converted AM broadcast transmitters, Johnson Desk KW, several
homebrew AM transmitters, many more transmitters and receivers, tubes, test
equipment, towers, microphones, speakers, etc.  Parts include filter
capacitors, RF inductors, air variable capacitors, meters, knobs, tube
sockets, insulators, relays, insulated shaft couplings.  Books and magazines
and "much, much more".

For more information, Email kzerocx at rap.midco.net

Too bad this is such a far away, remote location for most of the AM
operators. Hopefully this stuff can still be saved from the landfill.
