[AMRadio] Seeking advice for 1st time restoration -- Viking II

Geoff:

Thanks for the good advice on restoring the Viking II.  I laughed when you
mentioned installing a pair of 6146's.  Oops! I did leave those out didn't
I.  They were missing from the hamfest radio but I picked up a pair from
another hamfest tube man before I left.

Which brings up another question.  I intentionally purchased two RCA 6146's,
not 6146As or Bs. Somewhere I remember hearing that this old transmitter was
designed and built before the advent of the later generations of the 6146.
Any truth to that? Does it matter?
