[AMRadio] Starting in AM

Rob,
I am retired but an active fine artist, with no training in electronics.
However I do have a keen interest in radio. My uncle inspired me many
years ago as he was a ham (W6PRF). I live in northern Utah on 1/2 acre.
Plenty of room for several more dipole antennas planned this summer.
Downside is the power lines running east/west at the north end of the lot.
We do live in a town with sufficient 60 cycle hum.

Have been active in Army MARS and now serving in comms in CAP. Listening to
AM I am drawn to the audio quality, also the pace of QSO's by most AM hams.
Love to restore things but will need a little help with any radio repairs.
I do have friends around here that can help.
