I agree with you Bernie and I thought about all that and in my case I
found ways of getting the wx info I need by using NOAA WX radio, and a
local tv station subchannel that broadcasts wx radar all the time. I
figured I could use a 300 KHz rx as a lightning detector. Here's one
thing that bothered me: I was off-line at home for a week and really
felt internet withdrawal. I'd get home from work and not know what to
do with myself. I don't like being "addicted" to anything (except
maybe coffee) and I realized I had become dependent on the internet
like I used to be with TV and I found that disturbing.
