On the note of weird efficiency XMTRs.  I think you "Don" and I had a
discussion once about a DBLSB suppressed carrier generator fed to a limiter
of high efficiency and high output.  And the would be carrier sectioned out
shifted 90 deg, amplified at high level and high efficiency.  Then mixed at
the antenna through a 90 deg phased adder done with Xmission line.  I'm sure
I have left out some of the details but very interesting!  I think I saw
that again in perhaps The Radio Engineers Handbook?  I always wondered if
the Doherty system has a similar result as I have been told that the phasing
of the tuning is critical in the Doherty system and difficult to QSY much.
