Hi Bud
I have a rme45 with orig manual.
I have been meaning to restore it for 30 years :-)
How do I identify if it's an A or B?
What is your serial # maybe if mine is higher, it will be a B or C :-)
Have you tried the "Manual Man" for great repros?
Be well,

Subject: [AMRadio] RME - 45/45B Info

I have recently become the owner of a very nice looking RME 45 with
matching speaker, the 4301 Sideband selector and the VHF 152A
Converter.....NOW:

After spending time on the inside cleaning and tube checking (several 7B7's
and a 7S7 are low or marginal It was apparent that what I have is a 45B

I brought the receiver up slowly (about 6 hours) with no pops or smoke
:-)......It had been idle for several years
The receiver has several problems among which are weak audio and the only
discernable signals were in the broadcast band.. In general the receiver
works but needs work :-) The tuning system is quite accurate when
frequencies
are feed directly into the ant (at 1 Micro volt)

I have several pieces of documentation from BAMA (mirror site) and a poor
copy of a Sam's for the RME 45.
but I have found this Sam's to have several part and tube location errors
and does not show the "45 B".

I need some HELP :-).....It seems as though several of the manual sites
have the operator and service manual for the 45 but not the "B" .....Does
anyone have some good information, mod's and troubleshooting information on
the 45 B.....I would be very happy to pay for any copies and if I knew that
a
GOOD service manual for the 45 B was somewhere on line I would have no
problem meeting their price

Any suggestions or info ???

Thanks &73

Bud W2GLN
