I think I know what you are referring to--well, what I am thinking of
is some sort of two way exchange that is not voice but is not what I
associate with SSTV, which to me is modulated data with a sync pulse
and an 8 second time to trace the whole CRT screen. What I hear is
more of a roaring hiss--it seems to be some sort of transmission of
information but not what I used to hear as SSTV back when I was active
in the 70s and SSTV was heard fairly often.
Anyway, these guys tx their noise on what I thought was 3710. That or
something else caused me to CQ on 3700 one evening a few months ago
and I had a few QSOs and had a nice evening but then I heard later a
number of hams wanted to join in but could not because they did not
have Extra licenses. In my opinion, 3705 is still too close to the
Advanced band edge--maybe 3725 or thereabouts is the better place?
There are lots of free spaces below 3700 but I have given up on folks
upgrading (I bet most Advanced and Generals reading this could take
the Extra test cold and pass it).
