Hi Bernie,

Alas! I have Daddy Duty this evening: my daughter is singing and playing her
violin at a retirement home this even at about 6:15. I can be on very briefly
around 5:30 CST, but can't stay and will have to QRT no later than 5:45 PM CST.

I did work a morning group in the KS-MO region this morning Theye did not hear
me as well as each other, but a couple of them had very good signals into
Norman. I got not negative comments on my audio, so things can't be too
terrible.

I've notincd this before: my station has been optimized for CW DX to the limit
of my ability. On 80 m I run a Force 12 Sigma 80 off-center fed vertical dipole,
which is a great pile-up buster for DX but seems to do rather poorly for
anything short of 1000 mi when 80/75 gets long in the evening. I really need to
put up a dipole/inverted V for 75 m so I can work the short-haul stuff! I do OK
on 40 m stateside since my 40 m 2 el beam is up about 50 feet or so, which is a
bit low for 40 m.

The Champ puts out about 150-160 W carrier, same as it always has, and the
AX9909's show plenty of emission, as I can BURY the plate current meter if I
miss resonance. The Hammarlund HQ-170 sounds great and is wonderfully sensitive.
I'll give a quick call and listen around 3705 this evening around 1730 Z (5:30
CST, 6:30 EST).

73 & MS,

Kim N5OP
