[AMRadio] SB-10 Modification (was DX-100B on Phone - bad audio distortion / oscillation)

I've been reading all this about the SB-10 modification and such. If memory 
serves me correctly, the only thing one needs to do is to pipe the output, 
(SSB output) back into the input. The SB-10 needed the VFO frequency but if 
you weren't using SSB, you just put a jumper back in and left it in AM. Is 
it me or am I missing something here?
