Hi Jim,
When I was still in the working world, during the course of one of my annual performance reviews / appraisals my supervisor told me that my memos & notes were far too difficult for her to read, and that I should (literally) "...dumb them down."
I told her that whenever I'd issue something in writing, to me I represented the company for that moment---to dumb anything down like that, I said, was akin to dumbing down the place we worked for.
Anyway, I never wavered one iota---but the company came to within a hair's breadth of declaring bankruptcy a few years ago...
So much for the merits of "...dumbing down."
Anyway, this is a Reflector about AM radio, NOT social commentary! I've said my last on the subject...
