[AMRadio] Boat Anchor Receiver

Hallicrafters in their SX-101s used a heater tube mounted under the chassis 
to keep things warm.  The ones that I examined were inoperative - I guess 
that the heater wire burned out from being on all the time.  So much for a 
good idea.

What rig was it that had the VFO oscillaor tube lit all the time?  Some hams 
used DC voltage on this tube to diminish that warmup period.
