The DB Products supplied or the Dow Corning Silicone DC-4 are a proven product for this application. Just don't over do it . As far as the WHITE STUFF that some of the ham dealers are selling i have seen the results of it's misuse. A couple of years ago i was asked to trouble shoot a couple of repeaters that the range had degraded on quite dramatically. Upon inspection i found high SR on all the Antennas at the site. Began looking for a cause and found the WHITE STUFF in all the connectors there. This stuff looked like someone had spread cool whip inside all the connectors. we had to replace all the connectors there to get things to work right again. I recently removed a commercial lo band antenna similar to a Antenna Specialists M-117 Super Magnum CB antenna that was put up in 1965. after untaping the pl259 i u removed the pl259 by hand to find DOW corning type silicone inside the connector after all all those
years , The antenna still had an SWR of 1.4 at 33MHz.
That's my experience with the WHITE STUFF

Thanks to all of you for the offers. Now that I have contemplated the
request, I have another thought. If the stuff is DI-electric, meaning
it will not conduct electricity, then what will happen to the RF on the
center pin if it is coated? Will that cause trouble?
I don't know the composition of the packets that DB Products shipped,
but was told it would not interfere with the signal, but would fill the
void. Anyone knowledgeable about the stuff mentioned? I have seen the
"STUF"that you mentioned Don, but don't know anything about it.
At my age, I want to do it right the first time because it is difficult
for an old man to winch the tower up and down. Guess I need to invest
in an electric winch, huh?
