I'd say a good topic might be effectiive use of a modern transceiver
and linear amplifier on AM.  How to set it up with a scope to monitor
the envelope and correctly drive the amp--limitations with modern SSB
amps and rigs and how to modifiy them to get around these problems or
live within them.  Anyway, the idea is a forum for beginners on how to
get started with the gear they have on hand and use it correctly until
they can move on to a plate modulated rig if they become serious about
AM.
