Tim comes in nicely here in NC. Almost as strong as I heard him from
VT. Have worked him multiple times on 40 & 80 since the move.

Had a rather amazing contact here Saturday night. Steve, K4HX (ex
WB3HUZ) was down for the weekend helping me get a few of the
transmitters sorted out. We installed a replacement mod transformer in
one and had made a few contacts down on 80m to try it out.

Just before leaving the air around midnight, we were called by Gene,
WA4PGI, just up the road in VA. Always enjoy hearing from Gene. As we
were talking, someone tried to break in saying 'Good morning, Good
morning'. Steve said "That sounds like Jean!". Sure enough, on the
break, he came back to us. F6AQK in France!

Had a nice, brief chat with Jean, he was coming in 10 over S9 at times
and was hearing us 56. First time I've been able to make a solid AM
contact to Europe, even more amazing since he called us.

Guess it's been a good week for AM contacts all around as static
season starts to close in.
