Back when FCC opened > 3600 to phone I went through a period wondering
whether to call it 80 or 75. All my ham life to-date 80 m. meant CW to me
and 75 m. meant phone. I finally decided if it's phone anywhere between
3500 and 4000 it's 75 m. it's funny isn't it, but anyway, one of the guys
last night said there was a lot of activity on 3700 now, Don KYV there and a
few others. I said every time I take the trouble to QSY down there I get
nuthin. (Nuthin is less than nothing.) But now, I might give it a try
again.

Jim in Waco: Don't worry about giving up too early--the band will only get
better as we move more into fall.

I'm listening to the Bears Green Bay game on the local CBS station here.
For some reason during the football broadcasts they turn off IBOC and
transmit the full 10 KHz NRSC analog audio and on my GE Superadio in the
wide response setting it sounds fantastic. I'm not much of a sports fan but
I'm listening because the AM audio sounds so good. I wish they'd just can
IBOC and go back to all-analog all the time.

At the local Belvedere hamfest last weekend (Radio Expo 2010) a guy had a
Sixer for sale with the matching mic, which is not often seen. The mic
isn't anything to write home about technically but is collectable. The
Sixer was in pretty good looking shape. He wanted 50 bucks for it.
