You are sooo Correct TODD... The ARRL is a great organization that is kind
of in a tunnel and does not look right or left...If there is a ANTIQE mode
of operation it is CW folks. With the current President of ARRL Dave that
will never be admitted is he is about 100% CW no AM and very little
SSB......Why do they still operate CW at W1AW in all suites...

I worked them just before moving south. Should've sent in a QSL. My
recollection is that someone get ahold of the station that didn't know
how to tune and operate it properly and ended up burning something up,
which necessitated a new rule that someone from the League be present
and oversee its use. Or something to that effect.

I guess it's good that they still have it set up, though it might be
good to remind them that AM is a current, accepted mode still used
today and not simply a nostalgic reminder of the past. Unfortunately,
we've had people in our own community promote it as just that over the
years.
