Ed KB5GT asked this question of the group. My section Manager W5GM asked and
the answer is below from the ARRL. Good news is that it is all in place and
operational. Wonder how many folks put it on the air????

Hi Jay and Ed.
The vintage AM station and other historical objects such as "Old Betsy" the
1MK spark gap transmitter illustrate Amateur radio of long-ago.
The Johnson transmitter and National receiver sit atop of Hiram Percy
Maxim's original desk in the lobby of W1AW.
Visitors who are familiar with the operation of classic transmitters and
receivers are welcome to operate the vintage station.
For a super operating experience W1AW also boasts three guest studios with
modern transceivers.

Norm Fusaro, W3IZ

Does anyone know if the AM station at W1AW donated by Joe Walsh, Bob Heil,
and some
other folks is still there and operational? I tried to find it on the ARRL
website,
but found nothing about an AM position for visitors to operate.
