He said that he had been without power for a week.

He had his usual good signal, and sounded in good spirits.

I don't think there's anybody anywhere who gets more qsos out of a TX1 
than he does.

The ice storm that we had over a week ago did a lot of damage in Lum's
neighborhood.  A friend of his just got power back day before 
yesterday,
it might have been the same for him.  Also his wife is in assisted
living and he spends a lot of time with her.
