[AMRadio] Pace Maker Ending

It used to be even better as far as interesting qso's goes, but its still
more interesting then most of what I hear on ssb.
You can run into guys using homebrew stuff, building stuff, running vintage
gear of every type and age.

3870 to 3890 and 7285 to 7300 are popular frequencies for your location,
call cq and someone will likely answer if the bands are open.
Fine to use a modern rig, I used to run a flex 5000 from time to time.
You can get an amplifier and boost the output to 100 watts or more.
Low power works well on 40 meters if its open, 25 watts would be ok for a
lot of contacts.
Your rig should be running about 20 or 25 watts carrier out and 100 watts
pep, which is light for 80 meters.
80 meters at night is mostly a zoo and you would need more power, more then
100 watts many times.
I do 80 meters in the afternoon before the animals come out.
I worked W3FJJ in MD on 80 when we were both running 3 watts out using our
retro 75 rigs.
100% copy!
