Hello,
I want to thank all those who kindly offered advice in response to my call for help on the ART13 restoration. I am making progress. I have a couple of further questions:


1. If I key (with a CW key) when I am in the Voice mode with the microphone unplugged (or its volume turned down to zero), aren't I essentially producing a unmodulated CW signal? 
If that is the case (and if I ignore the fact that I am wasting the 811s'  longevity), this would be just another CW signal.  Am I correct?
2. Is MCW legal anywhere on any band? The way I read Part 97 of the FCC rule,  I don't see anything that would prohibit MCW operation in any segment of any band. It would 
not be a secret messaging as long as you use a standard morse code for one, and it is not a phone operation either. What am I missing? Are there any group of people who operate MCW 
on ham bands?
