Jim,
The hell with the hate and discontent folks. They will always be hateful
and discontented -- there's nothing we can do for them.
I'm working on getting an AM presence on the bands. Right now I have a
DX-60 with 3880 and 3890 rocks in it. But it's not on the air yet. My
'regional' 80 - 10 antenna went paws up, so I'm in the process of
rebuilding it. All I have running right now is a vertical on the metal
roof and it doesn't do well inside of about 350 miles. That and a HB
coil-loaded dipole on 160 that works pretty good.
I've got a ricebox (FT-897D) that I love but like yours, it's only 25
watts on AM. I'm working on getting an amp on the air ASAP. I'll have
about 10 days off for Christmas and I'm going to try to get the
inverted-V back up so I enjoy some local QSOs. When I get the DX-60 up
and running, I'll let you know on this list and we can give it a shot on AM.
I'm in Stephenville in NC Texas. Hope to talk to you soon.
73,
ldb
