40m has had some great nights this year from Wisconsin - those times I
was easily working Europeans on SSB with 100 watts and a wire vertical.

I have been so busy lately, the radio has not been on at all.
40 meters seems poor for years now, I think it needs some sun spots to
work
well.
It used to be a gang buster band, with 20 people on in 3 round tables,
with
people coming and going all day.
When 40 works well, 50 watts is enough to work loads of guys with good
signal strength.
But I dont think its going to get better for a while...
