You are. of course, absolutely right. Any plate modulated AM transmitter 
would be able to run RTTY at full power with no issues. In fact RTTY would 
place less stress on the transmitter because the peak power is 1/4 the peak 
AM power and there would be no need to provide power to the modulator.
