Are we talking just the metal tubes or the GT, GB, GC and G's? There is
quite a difference in all of these.

If you can believe my Rider Tube Caddy Substitution Guidbook, Yes! It shows
the 6L6 as a good substitute for the 6V6 and vica versa. Take note however
of Ed's comments on plate voltage.
