Just in case I was already in Washington on that date, and could
attend, just what good would it do?


Now there's a really good question.

I didn't see any listing of time allotted for public comments during the 
meeting.

So, other than showing your interest by simply being noted as present, or by 
perhaps giving you some idea of who, if anyone, on the committee will handle 
Amateur Radio concerns, probably not much.
