In the discussion on RC time constants to achieve the delay, I assumed DC relays. It wouldn't work directly with AC. But you can use a DC voltage source to activiate a DC "pilot" relay with the proper delay, using that pilot relay to switch the a.c. control voltage to the main contactor. Don k4kyv
