I generally lube the axles of the roller with regular non-gumming oil, and thoroughly clean the roller shaft with lighter fluid and rags. Then I'd use Caig Deoxit on the points of electrical contact such the bearing point between roller and shaft, and end sliding contacts of coil (but not the outside of roller or the coil itself).
