The Foundation is what supports the 501C3 corp with the Legal money, BPL
money, Scholarships, ARES,
And that could go on and on...You have to have a strong financial base
to keep all these programs going and to lobby in WA... And God forbid we
need that. Our Ham Radio Club in Dallas has a foundation of sorts and we
sell all kinds of stuff in order to keep the RACES REPEATERS and GPRS
stuff on the air for emergencies... I am talking to much tonight..LOL

Bob W1PE said in part: "Rick have you looked at the financial statement
of
the ARRL???"
Thought provoking, so I looked on the internet and one of the old
financial
statements outlined data for:
THE AMERICAN RADIO RELAY LEAGUE INC.
I looked at a 2006 report and it looks like there is also:
THE ARRL FOUNDATION, INC that buys, owns and sells stocks, bonds and
government securities.
Can someone sort out the ARRL group that works on BPL and the group that
owns stocks and bonds and why there was a need to develop a foundation?
