The FM channels are narrower in Europe than they are in the Americas. A
European FM channel is only 150 kHz wide, including the 25 kHz guard bands.
The American FM channels are 200 kHz wide. Also, the Europeans use 50
microsecond pre-emphasis, rather than the 75 microsecond pre-emphasis that
we use here.

The narrower channel width would account for the "touchy" tuning.
