Been there, done that.  But mine was a much cruder setup.  Simply turned the 
amplifier chassis upside down and lowered the tube into a small glass  
container filled with water.  It made the difference between stable 
operation and thermal runaway before the end of a long transmission.  My 
tube was the audio driver for a pair of triode connected 807's in the 
modulator.
