For those of us involved with local ham radio clubs,
there's a nice guide now available from the Society
for the Preservation of Amateur Radio.

Targeting newcomers and already-licensed hams
upgrading to add HF privileges, the primer offers an
overview of some of the interests and characteristics
found on the bands.

It's available at the following link, and can be
downloaded and "customized" by the local clubs to
include contact information for Elmers and other
resources a ham can find near home.
