The tube has an  oddball filament voltage something like 8.1 volts.  The 
Eimac spec sheet says that it was designed for radar pulse modulator 
service.  I once read somewhere that it is basically identical to a 450TL 
(or TH?), but that the filament voltage rating was increased to give more 
cathode emission, to accomodate peak outupt power in the 10's of kilowatts.  
This is at the expense of tube life.  If the tube is run at 7.5 volts it 
will do just fine in modulator or rf power amp service, and will last much 
longer.  Essentially, Eimac said run a 450T's filament voltage up, and it 
will deliver incredible peak power while it lasts, but will have a short 
life.
