You can modulate your grids, screens, plates, cathodes, the glass,
collectors, emitters, etc. as long as it comes out AM and the person
you're working is also using AM. As long as you're using the "heritage"
mode of AM, even your Icom, Kenwood, and Yaesu radios apply. Obviously,
doing it with your plate modulated boatanchor equipment adds some
additional nostalgia, but the rules don't specify a specific type of AM
modulation or a specific class of equipment.
