What a great idea.  But I dont know any local hams.......but one.  The 
recipocal agreement is what makes that such a good idea.

As to the River City guy, I think he was offering the service BEFORE as 
well as after the death, which makes him a safe bet since he was only 
offering appraisal and if the ham is still around to watch, then that is 
safety check enough.

BUT, my suggestion to my heirs is that they just go to E-BAY and do a 
search for the item they want to price.  What ever comes up on E-Bay 
will be too high for a local sale, but it will give them the upper limit 
and they can take half that for a local sale and be prety sure no one is 
getting ripped off on either side of the transaction.
