I think you can save it by just chipping the old one out and grinding the broken one to fit exactly the shape of the inside base
plate.  It should work without adhesive once the tower is set on it, gravity keeps it in place and the glue is more like a cushion.  As
for you BTA you can use an outboard rig or generator to to supply the drive and act as a vfo.
