Jim,

  The  set screws on my 5100 are indeed  allen.  All are 5/64 .   Are you able to get an allen wrench to set  securely
in the screw?

However, because the knobs are made of aluminum there is a good chance that the iron set screws have set tight because
of oxidation.  A couple of drops of PB Blaster or maybe even WD40 may penetrate the oxode layer. Let it sit over night.
