I might mention, also, on my Viking II to excite the 250TH rig, I've left the
6146's in, but with the plug-in coil grid circuit in the final, coupled with
the amount of coax I use to feed the rig, I can reduce the amount of drive
out of the Viking II by switching IN the 160m capacitor, and re-dipping the
final in the Viking II. The roller inductor is up around 75 or 80 (on a
scale from 0 - 100) but the output is much lower.
Just another thought.
