I think you missed something in Johns explination...
He's using the modified TS-820 at a low-power level output
to drive a Heathkit SB-200 to only get around 50 to 75w out
to drive the grids of the 250TH final. It's only an RF
generator/VFO. Main reciever is a Hammerlund HQ-145.
The 250TH's are modulated by (4) 813's in push-pull parallel.
Trust me, having been there and having operated that station,
it ain't no "rice-box with an amp".
