[AMRadio] Thunderbolt tank circuit adjustment

Hello, list.

Am beginning the process of returning a Johnson Viking Thunderbolt linear amplifier to
service, and a question has come to mind: how does one adjust the timing of the plate
tuning capacitor and the rotary inductor so that the tank circuit "Q" is correct? There
aren't any obvious timing marks on the inductor, capacitor, or gearing (but then again,
I haven't disassembled them yet). I know where the actual adjustment is (it's a shaft
clamp on the capacitor shaft) but the key question of course is knowing what to adjust
it to.

I assume that the procedure for this was covered in the Thunderbolt assembly manual (for
those brave souls who bought this beast in kit form), but I haven't been able to locate
a source for one on the Net. Can any one help with this?

Oh, by the way: if someone out there has a dead (but rebuildable) Thunderbolt bias
transformer, I'd like to talk to you.

regards,

Mahlon - K4OQ
