The best test is to put the tube in a class-C plate modulated f inal, 
running at about the maximum rated class-C telephony limit for the tube, and 
observe the trapezoid pattern on a scope for linearity.  If it will make 
100% or more positive without excessive curvature on the sides of the 
triangle,  the tube should be good for about any service you plan to use it 
in.
