He may have to change a setting in his browser for .pdf type files. Change
the default action from ( run Acrobat) to (save file). Then instead of
automatically getting Acrobat on the screen you'll get the Saving Location
dialog box. Best to save and then view later when 'offline'. 

It may just be easier the above way. Gary's way /should/ work fine as long
as you remember not to actually CLICK on the link (some skill required).
