Mike,
The Johnson 250-33 is an audio string
with 12ax7, a pair of 6B4 s in the output. Puts out
about 10-15 watts of audio sufficient to drive the 810 modulator tubes in
the Desk Kilowatt. For people who were trying to get the full capability of
plate modulated AM when their driving rig was a low level modulated(screen)
rig. It is a separate oblong box with a mike connector on each end and
covered with the maroon cover. It is depicted in old handbooks and early
johnson liturature. It was designed for the above application for the many
hams that did not have a ranger or other driving rigs which had plenty of
audio to drive the 810s in the desk. The pacemaker rig was also deficient
in audio and was used to separately drive the 810s when running am with the
Pacemaker. Tnx for the effort.
