Yes, I threw the original one out, as it was solder sealed
and oil filled, and worthless at the time.
Later on, its possible it could have been dealt with.
After it blew, I removed the whole deck (stock) and
put it aside, and built up the new one, so I could have put
a fixed mod transformer back on the original deck and had
higher resale.

I will regret selling my Triumph motorcycles till the day I die.
They went out of business and I traded for a Harley, as I could
go on long trips and get parts if I needed with the Harley.
I don't regret any of the radio stuff, the stuff was fun to play
with and I learned a lot.
Boat anchors were a source of parts to me, Johnson,
WRL, heathkit, buy them at fests cheap, and if I needed
a part, scrap it...
Even Collins was not exempt (I am still missing a driver
transformer out of one 32v3, don't know who I gave it to..).
I am glad I had the opportunity to play with these things
before they were worth a fortune.
It would have taken a lot of the fun out of it if they
had been collectible and valuable.
