Whoa,
The tx should not know the difference between your dummy load OR your
antenna!! If it does then your antenna is not 50 ohms (or whatever). Best
work on the antenna side of things- feedline, tuner, antenna(!). Use a
small tx to get the antenna 100%; don't risk your big rig.
Does the tx have a 'tune mode'? If not pop a heating unit or lightbulbs
(wired in parallel) into HV primary to drop input voltage to ~1/2 normal.
This will drop tx output to ~1/4 and allow 'leisurely' tuning.
