<<Doesn't Fair Radio still have them for less than $700?>>
$550 "checked with reproduction meters"
<<I found a nice national dial on ebay, but some scum outbid me at the last
moment!>>
I guess this person's definition of scum is someone who wanted the same
item but was smarter at auction bidding.
<<Not only that, but there are "TRUE SCUM" that frequent eBait that "USE"
info gathered from those that KNOW what they are doing regarding a certain
type of item, just by watching their bid history and current bid lists, and
then outbidding that 'knowledgable' person by a few bucks thereby STEALING
their 'intellectual property>
Hmmm....I guess everyone who has their eyes and ears open and learns from
what they observe going on around them is "TRUE SCUM". Amazing!
> And I won't EVEN get into the topic about certain sellers that hire a shill
to inflate the bidding and/or create a frenzy just so they can squeeze the
last penny of profit out of the item.>>
NEWSFLASH.....The purpose of an auction is to pit bidders against each other
to achieve the highest selling price possible. If this imaginary shill bids
higher than you want to spend, and no one has a gun to your head forcing you
to bid, don't bid. Duh!
<<This also helps to keep the going price (FMV) for an item to a reasonable
(read accurate/true) level. Once egos and bidding frenzys (+ shills) get
involved, you might as well kiss the FMV for that type of item good bye>>
Right after I go tear up my economics degrees, I'm going to call this guy and
find out what the "fair, accurate and true" values are for everything. I
guess he determines that and not the market place.
<< I've given up on getting one, unless an angel comes my way delivering one,
some day... Or I'm somehow able to pick up the modules one at a time :( But
even at that, I saw an AF board for one go for over $200 once on eBait!>>
Well, that was an exception. I happen to know that a couple of thugs held
shotguns to the guy's head and made him bid $200. I just love these whining
cry babies who can't find steals at tiny hamfests any more. Look, auctions
favor the seller. You've got one item available and lots of potential
buyers. Simple supply and demand. If the auction heat's too hot, stay out
of the kitchen.
