[AMRadio] ADMIN: TO ALL MEMBERS - PLEASE READ

The message below is exactly the kind of filthy comments (regardless of the
reason for them) that I will not allow on this list.

This list has been online since 1998, and until recently I've never had much
of a problem with any of the postings made. Many of you know, that have
been around here for a long time, I've never had the need to "moderate" the
messages sent before posting them. It's been an "un-moderated" list since
the beginning.

I usually stay behind the scene, and try NOT to quote rules to the list, as
it's not way, but this time, I felt I had no choice. We had at least five
members leave just in the last day and a half due to the recent explosion of
words. A few were NEW members! I know that the majority of our members had
nothing to do with this, and were likely disgusted with the ramblings. This
is one reason I write this message... to let you know that I condemn the
child's play of these few people on OUR list, and apologize to the fact I
was not aware of it until it was too late.

I will continue to keep the list "un-moderated" to the extent that I will
let postings in without looking at them first. I don't want to play God
here, and I don't feel the need to quote list rules every month (as many
admins do) to people that I feel are probably some of the most highly
respected folks in ham radio.

I will ask that we keep this list civil and welcome new members with open
arms. I don't want anyone made to feel STUPID for asking a question on this
list. That's ONE reason it's here.

I have a lot more on my mind about some of the recent messages, but will
refrain from using the AMRadio list to babble my thoughts any further. I
ask all members to HELP me be informed of this type activity, as I do not
read every single post. You can email me directly at
amradio-admin at mailman.qth.net

Thank You
Brian Sherrod
